Wik Castle was built as a defence castle about 1450. Rebuilt in a french stile in the 17th century. The presence exterior of the castle are from 1860. Wik Castle is truly unique. The castle is one of Sweden's best kept strongholds from the Middle Ages.
Vik Castle was the birthplace of Svante Arrhenius, winner of the 1903 Nobel Prize for Chemistry.
