Wik Castle a foggy morning in the end of October. Wik Castle is situated in Uppsala municipality and Balingsta district in Uppsala County. The castle was constructed in the 15th century, in the manner of a large tower house. The castle's principal building materials were stone and brick. Wik Castle is situated at the shore of Lårstaviken in Lake Malar. Lake Malar is the third-largest freshwater lake in Sweden.
Wik Castle was the birthplace of Svante Arrhenius, winner of the 1903 Nobel Prize for Chemistry.
